BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Before your visit, gather all relevant medical information and eye documentation you have.
It is important to remove contact lenses at least 2 days prior to your visit. During your visit, please bring any current glasses or contact lenses that you wear and any prescribed or non-prescribed medication you are taking in their original containers.
It is also helpful to make a list of any symptoms you are experiencing or questions you have for the doctor.
Additionally, it may be helpful to bring a companion with you, as the pupil dilation test can impair vision and make it difficult to drive.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT
On the day of your appointment, arrive on time and at the location specified in your appointment letter to allow enough time for check-in and any necessary paperwork.
Upon arrival, the administrative staff will collect your personal information and enter it into your medical record. They will also ask for a telephone number where they can easily reach you in case of any need.
DURING THE CONSULT
During your visit, Prof. Mura’s team will perform a thorough visual examination, including testing your vision and checking the health of your eyes. Our medical staff will collect information on your recent and remote family and ophthalmological history. Be prepared to discuss any medical history, including any previous eye surgeries or conditions.
The examination may include a dilation of the pupil with eye drops, and other instrumental tests will be performed as necessary, depending on your specific needs. Please note that in some cases the examination may take at least two hours to complete.
Prof. Mura and his staff at the Department of Ophthalmology at Arcispedale Sant’Anna are dedicated to providing the best possible care for their patients. They are knowledgeable and friendly, and they will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your specific needs. Our entire team works together to ensure that every patient receives the attention they deserve.
Overall, the goal of your visit is to get a comprehensive evaluation of your eye health and determine the best course of action for preserving and improving your vision.
